Homeless Program

We provide assistance in three major areas:
  • Affordable permanent housing.
  • Goal management techniques.
  • Financial budgeting and planning for a secure future.

What is HPRP?

The Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program is funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to assist households throughout Tulare County who are at imminent risk of becoming homeless or who have been homeless for less than 90 days.

Central California Family Crisis Center is granted funds under the Rapid Re-housing guidelines. The literally homeless population falls under this area of funding (ie., living in a car, under a bridge, sleeping in the park, staying in a shelter or transitional housing, staying in a motel paid for by an organization recognized for assisting with homelessness).

Who qualifies?

To be eligible for assistance the household must be homeless less than 90 days or at risk of homelessness and meet both of the following circumstances:

  1. No appropriate subsequent housing options have been identified
  2. The household lacks the financial resources and support networks needed to obtain       immediate housing.

Other eligibility criteria:
  •  Individual and families who are currently in need of assistance to move into a unit.
  • Individuals and families who have been homeless for less than 90 days and need temporary assistance in order to obtain housing.
  • Household must be under 50% of Area Median Income (AMI).
